Work Description:
Mr. Blume has
acquired a broad background in golf course architecture and land
planning through his experience in working as President of
Jeffrey D. Blume, Limited and his affiliations with von Hagge,
Inc. and GolfScapes, Inc. After graduating from Texas A&M
University in 1989 with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture,
Mr. Blume joined Jeffrey D. Brauer’s firm, GolfScapes, in
Arlington, Texas. Within six months of his employment at
GolfScapes, he rose to the position of Project Architect and was
responsible for the design and construction observation of seven
golf course projects during his 2-1/2 year tenure. Three of
these commissions were in the public sector which enabled Mr. Blume to gain valuable experience in working with
municipalities.
In 1992 Mr. Blume
joined the firm of world-renowned golf course architect Robert
von Hagge to serve as a Project Architect for commissions in the
U.S., Japan, Mexico, and the Caribbean. During his tenure, he
was responsible for such notable designs as Pelican Marsh and
Bay Colony Golf Clubs, which were ASLA Award of Merit winning
projects in 1994. Mr. Blume was also responsible as the
architect in charge of the Playacar Club de Golf near Cancun,
Mexico, a project which incorporated 18 holes of championship
caliber golf with a multi-use residential resort community.
In 1997 Mr. Blume
resigned his position at von Hagge, Inc. to form his own design
firm, Jeffrey D. Blume, Limited. Currently, Mr. Blume has been
commissioned to design a a new eighteen hole championship course
at Bentwater Yacht & Country Club in Montgomery, Texas, and has
renovation commissions at Sunset Golf Course at Ft. Bliss,
Texas; South Shore Harbour Country Club in League City, Texas;
and Golfcrest Country Club in Pearland, Texas.
His expertise
includes all aspects of golf course design ranging from
conceptual planning, construction documentation and
specifications, cost estimating, bid document preparation, and
construction observation. In addition, he is well versed in land
planning skills for a variety of multi-use master planned
communities.
